This is what COMMUNITY looks like. 94 people came out to clean up the park and it didn’t rain! We had such a great response from youth in our community with half of attendees under the age of 23.  We still have a few more projects left such as building the raised beds, hanging gutters and a little work on the parking area so we will post a follow up day soon.

Frog alley is now passable so those coming from the corner of N. West and A st or north of that intersection, the alley will be the best route into the park.  This is a pedestrian only alley (there is no way to make a car fit!).  Someone had discarded broken cement sidewalk back there and the Carlisle Football coaches and players moved it all out for the borough to pick up.

Trees are mulched and new apple, pear and cherry trees are planted. The pavilion floor is a colorful blue and stenciling will happen by the next clean up.  The old grills and the basketball thing(?) have been removed and the play equipment was cleaned up.

We hope our next clean up is as successful as this was but we are also planning on coordinating events in the park just for fun this summer too.  That’s the whole reason we are doing all of this work, of course!  Thanks again to everyone, it means so much to all of us who have been working for months on this project.
