In December 2017 PIRHL developers held a public meeting at Friends Meeting House to discuss the updated plans for the Tire and Wheel site. This was a follow up meeting after the updated plans were presented at a small meeting with a few neighbors from the West Side Neighborhood earlier that month. The main change from the original plans is that there is not funding available to move forward on the block between A and B streets. The 2 blocks between B and D streets will be developed into workforce housing comprised of 40 townhomes and 12 two-family semi-detached dwellings as well as 2.21 greenspace and small park.
Although these blueprints outline a concept of the layout, PIRHL will need to present land development plans for approval prior to breaking ground on construction. At the time of the meeting they were anticipating presenting plans at an upcoming meeting possibly in February or March but no updates have been posted yet. Images of the powerpoint presentation are available here with further detail.
At the January Borough Council meeting, land development plans were approved for 650 N. College Street. That location is located on the corner of C St and N. College Street on the land where the trailer park was located. Galbraith Development Corp. purchased the land and has designed the space to be developed into 8 townhomes. The full layout of the plans are available in this pdf we created.
