Day Of Sharing Recap- Project SHARE Farm Stand Grand Opening & Celebration In HP Park

HP-Day-of-sharing-pano2

On Saturday, May 16th, our community came together for a Day of Sharing, initiated by Project SHARE and Carlisle E-Free Church, to celebrate our community and the opening of Project SHARE’s new Farm Stand.  After their initial ideas were laid out, more and more community churches and organizations joined forces to create a day of work and celebration to give back to our neighborhood. The morning was filled with volunteer work projects both in Heberlig Palmer Park and in over 20 neighborhood homes or buildings.  Projects ranged from outdoor landscaping to plumbing, painting, construction (roofing, drywall, building porches) and much more.  These pictures are only a sampling of what was accomplished in our community in 4 short hours.

At noon was the Grand Opening and dedication of Project SHARE’s new Farm Stand.  On hand were Project Share Executive Director, Elaine Livas, as well as Representative Bloom, The Gardner Foundation Director, Sonye Brown and David Hodge. The rest of the afternoon was spent celebrating in the park with tasty free food, fun entertainment, games for children and vacation Bible school at Shiloh Baptist Church.

The day never would have happened if it weren’t for the volunteers who coordinated the day from these organizations:

Carlisle Evangelical Free Church
