Teen Summer Agriculture Program-L.E.A.F

There is a brand new summer program available to teen in Carlisle this year.  L.E.A.F (Leadership, Education and Farming) “will bring together teens from a range of backgrounds to work on farms and learn how to prepare their harvest in the kitchens of local restaurants. The teens will also engage in leadership activities, hunger relief projects and learn about nutrition and food systems.”  The Sentinel wrote up a great overview of the program so please read the full piece.  Applications are due by May 1st. “Students will be paid a $900 stipend for the six-week internship, Witmer said. Once they graduate from the summer core program, they will be eligible to be in leadership in the spring and fall sessions.”
