It looks like the borough’s bike trail routing system is already in its installation process. The Sentinel interviewed Andrea Crouse, director of Carlisle Parks and Recreation, and she noted
“Work started in December with the installation of signs marking roads that will also function as bicycle routes through the town”
A $539,643 grant was given to the borough from the Pennsylvania Community Transportation Initiative(“Smart Transportation” program). The program connect borough streets with local trails. The streets will be designated by street signs as well as bicycle markings on the street itself. This is to inform drivers that they must share the road and that bicyclists are able to ride on the full street not just the side.
