A Carlisle Town Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. at the Comfort Suites at 10 S. Hanover St. in Carlisle.
Anyone in the public is invited to come to the free event and enjoy light refreshments and door prizes, as well as the chance to address local media representatives about a variety of topics.
The town meeting, which will last about an hour, is being co-sponsored by WGAL, The Sentinel and WHP Talk Radio 580.
“The purpose of the meeting is to give the public the opportunity to speak back to the media,” Paul Quinn, the president and general manager at WGAL, said.
Local residents can speak up about the issues they think are important and what they would like to see more coverage on, Quinn said.
Town meetings of this kind have been held in Carlisle for “well over 10 years,” Quinn added.
Previous town meetings have also been successful, sometimes drawing upward of 100 people, Quinn said.
“The main reason that we do it is to keep the image that we are not above listening to anybody,” Quinn said. “We proactively seek input about the things that are concerning our viewers.”
“This is a great forum for people in our community to ask questions and as the new publisher, I’m excited to meet more people from within our community,” Mark Heintzelman, publisher at The Sentinel, said. “Any and all questions are welcome.”
