Farmer’s on the Square This Wednesday

Berries and sweet peas and greens, oh my!

Brave the heat to visit the Farmers on the Square market this Wednesday and you’ll be duly rewarded, indeed.  We’ll have a full spread of local strawberries, several vendors bearing sweet peas as well as sugar snap peas, and plenty of herbs and greens to go around again.  There is even hope of some of the season’s first green beans and new potatoes!

Topping the market’s event calendar this week is our first ever cookbook and cooking magazine swap!!  Located on a table adjacent to the Friends of the Farmers stand, you’ll find piles of gently used cookery books and food-related periodicals.  You can add to and take from this stack as your culinary needs require!  Among the offerings, you’re likely to find many new uses for the produce, meats, cheeses and eggs found at the market. Books remaining on the table will be donated to the Bosler Library’s Bookery and the glossy magazines will go to a local charity that is collecting them to be recycled for cash.

Working artists from Carlisle Arts Learning Center will also be setting up shop to keep little hands busy between 4 and 6 PM and the multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Michael Dempsey will be on hand between for your listening pleasure.

See you on the square!
PS.  Just as a little note about some upcoming technical maintenance we need to undergo.  The good news is that the interest in the Farmers on the Square market is growing!  The bad news is that we’ve outgrown our contact capacity for this plain old vanilla gmail account.  So over the next two weeks we will be migrating to a Google groups email account.  You won’t have to do anything on your end other than to keep reading our updates.  But nonetheless, we wanted to give everyone a heads up on the move.
