Trick or Treat with Project Porchlight

Project Porchlight is a simple yet super effective initiative to help keep neighborhoods safe & welcoming by keeping the street well lit all night long.  Each neighbor can do their part by simply installing a light bulb in their porchlight and flicking the switch on each evening and turning it off in the morning.  Street lights don’t usually light up the whole street well so having additional lights at each home can really make a huge difference.  Using a compact florescent lightbulb (CFL) keeps the electricity cost down to about 1$ for the whole year to run your porch light all night, every night.

We are all really good at turning on our lights for trick or treat night and it is a great night to help get the word out about why keeping your light on other nights is a great idea.
